Your Least Common Opinion?

I can agree with you there on that one - Icon is awesome and better than Blue Fire although both seem different to in terms of layout.

I'd say Blue Fire is more of a looping launch coaster than an airtime one.
The only thing Blue Fire has going for it is the last inversion. The rest of its layout is inferior to Icon.

I agree – Galactica is my favourite flying coaster.

And I have ridden F.L.Y., as well as Tatsu and Manta.

I'll be trying Flying Dinosaur for the first time next month – will be interesting to see how it compares.
Update: Galactica is still my favourite Flyer. Even after riding Flying Dinosaur.

Now another (I think) uncommon opinion from my Japan trip:

Steel Dragon 2000 is better than Hakugei.

^ I vehemently disagree, but I think that is the point of this thread...

I can get why someone might prefer Galactica over Flynosaur, as Flynosaur is exceptionally intense and maybe slightly nauseating. But why Steel Dragon over Hakugei? I was not immensely impressed by the former.

Hakugei was brilliant, but I've done 4 RMCs now, and I just found it a bit same-y. It didn't offer anything other RMCs didn't. My favourite RMC remains Untamed.

Steel Dragon was right up my street. Height, speed, big swooping drops with floater airtime, a fantastic run of bunny hops on the return leg – loved it. The back row especially was brilliant.

My biggest two from last year might turn heads

Europa Park is only good when things go right, when things go wrong the park is awful:

Okay this is hot off a trip last year in November where it went from my favourite park to a Merlin Park in my opinion. Paid like £50 for their half baked Hallowinter event where all of their marquee rides were closed, basically all shows bar one were not performing, and the backside of the park was covered in scaffolding. Nevermind half the food places being closed..

B&M is going to crash eventually
It seems B&M is losing its main selling point, smoothness. Sure it is selling great at the moment, but their family coasters laden with rattles showcase the downfall of their quality. With Mack and Vekoma being around, I wonder if B&M will see a struggle in sales in the future. Their additions this year seem highly inferior to what Vekoma could or would do.

The Hollywood Dream Backdrop is better than the Flying Dinosaur early in the morning.

GhostRider’s drop isn’t as bad as y’all criticize it.

The Xcelerator is underrated.

Floater is better than ejector
Floater is sometimes better than ejector. With some "space" in the restraint, it will give more magic than ejector. My favorite drop is Valkyria. That is "only" floater. But it gives the most butterflies of all drops I have experienced. So yes, I agree, floater is better than ejector.

RMC has the worst restraints or maybe even trains out there. Yes, even worse than the Volare cages.

Why?
Firstly, the shin guards. If you are tall, those will constantly push into your shins, even with some wiggle room on your thighs. Every single airtime pop will then result in in full impact on your shins. I usually have bruises on my shins from RMCs, which should be a no go.

But wait, there is more: The restraints are so incredibly hard to move, I often see people, especially kids struggle to even open or close them.

But that is still not enough: With the seatbelt setup, you can’t really check them when the restraint is down, so the belts have to be checked first which slows down operations a lot. Intmain had this sorted out in 2000, RMC still can’t get it done in 2025.

And one bonus issue: The buckle might destroy your shirts when it’s constantly rubbing against it. It can also be right under your restraint, so you have a metal piece pushing into your thigh. Not fun.

They are also on the tighter side, but given the other issues they have, this is a rather minor one.

The trains not only slow down operations due to their quirks, they also physically hurt the riders and might even damage their property.

With them reworking them a few years ago, I still can’t believe that they didn’t tackle a single one of those issues. Quite contrary, I feel like the older restraints give me a tiny bit more space to protect my shins than the newer ones.
If those trains were a school project, they’d be an easy F for me.
