Knott’s Berry Farm | MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress | Schwarzkopf Launch Refurb | 2025?

Wasn't the original loop destroyed by mistake? Which is likely part of the reason there was such a huge delay? I figure this is a reproduction.

I think they cut it into pieces with a blow torch, but there's really no reason why they couldn't weld it back together...which might be the reason this has taken so long. If this was a newly manufactured reproduction, I would think it could have been much quicker than fixing what they tore apart.

The profile on the loop of these Arrow shuttle coasters is quite unique, I have a hard time believing they'd be able to/want to replicate it to so closely resemble the original if they were starting from scratch.

Yes? It's just a jagged cut, not that hard to clean and smooth down, then weld together with a little patch to cover the lost material. Probably a lot cheaper than manufacturing whole new sections.

I don't recall anyone saying "quick"....also note: that post you referred to was from 2022...so they have had literal years to get it back together...

On page 1 of this thread it says "Coming 2023" jeez, has it really been that long?

Yeah, I remember it being advertised as part of the new Fiesta Village. And then I read in the OC Register that new Montezuma wouldn't be a part of it.

If they are going with the original plan of adding effects and theming, I doubt it opens this year. I typically stagger my Knott's passes and buy a pass every other year, but if they reopen in 2026 I might have to think about going with at least a gold pass.
