Word on the street, fans, is that the McRib might be coming back to the UK next month.
This teaser appeared briefly on the app but was quickly withdrawn. Was it a test? Was it a mistake? Was it a troll? Who knows, but, y'know... any McRib news is good news, right? 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Not in any particular order, just a few examples of stuff I hated:
Time Warp / any Volare.
Only ridden the one at Canada's Wonderland. Despite a couple of opportunities to get a couple more for the count, I've never ridden another since and never will. Disgusting.
Insane / any Zacspin.
As...
I don't want to give away too much... but let's just say it's considerably better than Poseidon's Fury (which I also really liked by the way) and if it's open, you should definitely do it while you have the chance. ☺️
Don't you just love it when you find a list topic that you haven't updated in a while?
1. Alton Beast/New Beast (I'm going on the theory that they were, in fact, the same ride).
2. The Black Hole.
3. ThunderLooper.
4. Jumbo Jet (Drayton Manor).
5. Looping Star (Rhyl).
6. Scorpion (BGT).
7...
An encouraging report. I wonder if PortAventura are finally addressing the issues that have plagued them for years, or whether you just dropped lucky on the day. Good luck for the rest of the trip, Mat.
Tell me, is Templo del Fuego operating at the moment? It's an absolute must-do if it is.
Is this the much-touted PortAventura trip? Exciting times, I hope everything goes well for you. Be interesting to see how Shambhala compares to Mako and Silver Star. Fingers crossed it's running at it's best. 🤞
Ok let's do a bit of Intamin bashing:
Maverick is pants. I don't get why so many rate it so highly. Trains and restraints are bad. The stop/start launch ruins the flow. Capacity isn't great - it always has a long line - but the absolute worst thing of all? It launches you straight into a trim...
1. The Ride to Happiness. Like... durrr! Of course it's The Ride to Happiness.
2. Helix. Used to be my number 1 coaster. A masterpiece.
3. Pulsar. Don't care, it's a Mack, it's a coaster and it launches so I'm counting it. I think it's brilliant.
4. Time Traveler. Not a patch on RTH, but...
So I went to America and rode 6 new RMC's.
Six!
In one trip! 😲
That brings my total up to 16.
This is how I rank them. New in bold.
1. Steel Vengeance.
No surprises here - it's still my overall number 1 coaster. It's the sheer size of the thing that keeps it at the top. 5740ft of RMC madness...
Yesss! Thanks to 'Murica '24, B&M is now back in front again, reclaiming the title it lost to Vekoma a few years ago. This makes me happy. I like B&M's, me.
1. B&M, 76.
2. Vekoma, 74.
3. Mack Rides, 46.
4. Intamin, 45.
Arieforce One.
So good it deserves it's own post.
It is, for want of a better description, a perfect rollercoaster. A flawless sequence of maneuvers, every single element hits, and hits hard. The pacing of this ride is simply breathtaking. And when I say pacing, I don't just mean that it runs...
That's a tough one. There's really not much between them to be honest, both rides are... fine, I guess? Being new, Gold Rush obviously has more of a novelty value at the moment. However, Th13teen is still the (marginally) more thrilling of the two.
No disrespect to Gold Rush - it's a perfectly...
Got the new one at Drayton Manor today. It's not bad actually. Interesting. Smooth. Comfortable. Looks nice. Had 3 goes altogether, 1 at the front, 2 at the back and managed to sample both different ride cycles. Definitely prefer the 'afternoon' cycle - the one where it does the backwards thing...
Another day, another Six Flags park (Over Georgia this time) and another 13 creds to collect.
Actually make that 12, Dare Devil Dive was down all day.
Actually make that 11, Batman: The Ride was down all day too. Boooo! I like the Batman clones and I like collecting B&M's, getting spited by one...
^^That's a whole bunch of outstanding rides in one trip, that is. Good job! Love how you saved the best for last - Ride To Happiness is indeed a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Meanwhile, back in 'Murica:
Fury 325.
Along with Wildcat's Revenge and ArieForce One, this was easily one of my most...
Mine is Alton Towers. It's only 23 miles from where I live - from a nearby hillside I can even watch the Alton firework displays from a distance - but it still takes me about an hour to get there cos most of the route is slow, higgledy piggledy, B-roads.
You know that last couple of miles before...
