One coaster that really caught me off guard was Jupiter at Kijima Kogen Park in Japan. I had low expectations because of the age and some rough reviews, but the layout actually delivered a surprisingly fun, airtime-filled ride—especially in the back row. It reminded me how much charm a well-aged wooden coaster can have when you go in with the right mindset.
Also, FireWhip in Beto Carrero World (Brazil) is often overlooked, but it genuinely surprised me. It’s a Vekoma SLC, so I expected a neck-breaking experience, but it was smooth (for an SLC!) and the theming added a lot. Maybe it was just a good ride day, but it changed my mind about that model.
I actually wrote a bit about coasters in Brazil . Would love to hear more hidden gems from smaller parks—sometimes the best rides are where you least expect them!
