Ooh I got one more little update to round off the year.
A bit too late, as I did the tally earlier today, but fortunately that's of no consequence since we only count the top 10. I sometimes get a little curious how it would impact the rankings if we took the occasional top 15 or top 20s into account, but it'd be a pain and a half to work with the spreadsheet. With top 10, I have enough space to keep the spreadsheet on one half of the screen and the topic to scroll through on the other.

By the way, massive thanks to those of you who label your Goliaths. Six Flags (and to some extent, Disney) really must hate statistics people and pollsters.

15. Gotham City Escape - Parque Warner Madrid

Pyrenees - This ride has basically been the top of my bucket list for years so I was expecting to like this before going in to it. It is intense. The first half in particular is ruthless. It also appeared to be overspeeding a bit in the first half so that just amplified things even more.

Eejanaika - I've ridden a lot more rides since the last time I got on this so I can appreciate it's intensity a lot more than before. However, I still stand by that this ride is a massive sensory overload to the point that it hurts it from getting any higher in my ranking.

It's been hard narrowing down over 1000 to just 25, but here's my list in video form:

Nice video, Doc, some 'interesting' choices in there, not sure I can forgive the omission of you-know-what, and Ride to Happiness definitely isn't high enough, but on the whole a very respectable list. Apart from the top 2, this is all new information to me so was interesting to finally see your full list. Very happy to see The Beast, X2, Helix and Shambhala getting high ratings.
Good work, Sir.

Whelp, 49 new credits later as I skipped Frontier City and only rode 5 new coasters at Dollywood along with a couple other closures, here is my updated top 10 or top 6.4% of my 157 credits:

1. Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point - Long live the king!
2. Fury 325, Carowinds - I tried to crack the support again but failed.
3. ArieForce One, Fun Spot Atlanta - Every element delivers and the break run tries to neuter you so that's fun too.
4. Voyage, Holiday World - It is, in fact, a voyage.
5. Outlaw Run, Silver Dollar City - Every element pops and the more woodsy feel gets me in my feelings.
6. Maverick, Cedar Point - Every force forcefully.
7. Twisted Cyclone, Six Flags Over Georgia - Did not expect this to be my 2nd favorite RMC of my southeast trip but here we are.
8. Storm Chaser, Kentucky Kingdom - After some thought, this is moved up. So powerful despite its stature.
9. Iron Rattler, Six Flags Fiesta Texas - My favorite first drop and the interaction with the quarry wall is *chef's kiss*
10. Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast, Six Flags Over Texas - Was underwhelmed by the one at Over Texas albeit still great. So I moved this down a smidge. Need to re-ride to re- evaluate.

Honorable mentions, basically anything that is a 9 or better that I'm not going to rank in order because I don't like and pretty much suck at ranking coasters!

Mamba & Prowler - Worlds of Fun
Time Traveler - Silver Dollar City
Batman - Six Flags St Louis
Monster - Adventureland
Renegade - Valleyfair!
Batman, Goliath - SF Great America
Millennium Force - Cedar Point
Orion, Banshee, Mystic Timbers and Diamondback - Kings Island
Lightning Run - Kentucky Kingdom
--- New Credits ---
Texas Stingray, Great White - SeaWorld San Antonio
Superman, Goliath - Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Afterburn, Copperhead Strike - Carowinds
Goliath, Batman - Six Flags Over Georgia
Lightning Rod, Thunderhead - Dollywood

So that includes my top 34 or 21.7% of my credits.

As it has now been a full week, I am updating my top 10 from my Florida trip last week and we have some movement. Bold coasters are new credits since the last list:

1. Iron Gwazi, Busch Gardens Tampa - I had high expectations for this but I was still blown away. Its first drop, pacing, whip and of course that excellent RMC airtime were perfect. While not near the length of SteVe, its ride time still felt adequate.
2. Steel Vengeance, Cedar Point - Still a nearly perfect ride with seemingly unending length and airtime. I could see this dueling with Iron Gwazi with whatever I rode more recently being #1.
3. VelociCoaster, Islands of Adventure - For a coaster being 3rd out of 174, it is weird to say that I was slightly disappointed by it. That stated, what an incredible overall experience and that 2nd half is likely my favorite half of a coaster and the mosasaurus roll is the craziest inversion I've experienced.
4. Fury 325, Carowinds
5. ArieForce One, Fun Spot Atlanta
6. Voyage, Holiday World
7. Outlaw Run, Silver Dollar City
8. Maverick, Cedar Point
9. Montu, Busch Gardens Tampa - A positive G powerhouse and still glass smooth after nearly 30 years.
10. Mako, SeaWorld Orlando - Airtime for days. I also found Mako's airtime to be stronger than most B&M hyper's sans Goliath at SFOG but this didn't have that obnoxious rattle. Back row, left edge is sublime.

Total Credits: 174

I want to also note that there is a pretty big gap between the top two and the rest of the top 10.

Out of over 200 coasters, I've narrowed it down to 10 (with some honorable mentions) here:

For those who don't have 16 minutes of free time, here is a quick rundown.

1. Jurassic World VelociCoaster: A perfect ride. It's consistently incredible with an exceptional mix of thrills and theming.
2. Steel Vengeance: The definitive airtime coaster. Only misses the top spot due to a mix of repetition and an inconsistent mid-course.
3. Lightning Rod: Haven't ridden since 2019, but the airtime was incredible and the pacing was on point.
4. GhostRider: A long, bat out of hell layout filled with great airtime moments and the best lateral forces on any coaster,
5. X2: I don't care if it's rough as all hell. If anything, the roughness does nothing but add to the already high aggression this ride delivers.
6. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure: A long, ambitious ride filled with surprise elements and superb theming.
7. Iron Gwazi: Not as strong as I was expecting it to be, but the pacing is top notch and the Death Roll is a sensory overload.
8. Fury 325: Like Iron Gwazi, the forces aren't as strong as I was expecting, but the pacing was on point.
9. Storm Chaser: IMO the best smaller coaster by RMC by far. My thighs were pretty much laughing after multiple rides.
10. The Voyage: One of the best wooden coaster layouts of all time. Would've placed higher if my rides weren't so rough.

Cheetah Hunt will be my #1 if Iron Gwazi is closed on my trip to BGT

This isn't meant to be snarky, but how can you be so sure that a coaster will be your number one even though you haven't been on it? There are coasters held in very high regard, like Helix, which I fully expected to make my top ten but didn't even make the top 15. Maybe what some people love in a coaster, you might not love and therefore how can a coaster have a guaranteed spot in the top place?

Hey, maybe it's just a matter of setting the bar low, with only upward movement if Cheetah Hunt is expected to be a top fiver. :p

Here's to hoping IG is open for you @ValravnIsElite!
