Nothing wrong with Silver Star, it just doesn't have the 'oh, my ****ing God, WOW' factor that usually comes with that ride type.
It's better than Goliath at La Ronde, for instance.
It was ranked together with the '7s' - Pegasus is one of my favourite family coasters, probably better than Thirteen to be honest and I'd love to see more Youngstar models around (and Soquets, for that matter) - but I'll confess it doesn't belong in the same ballpark as a night ride on...
The pulling power would arguably be worth that gigantic fee if that is the case.
Loving the idea of a Dr Who ride too.
Oh, ****'s sake, you've got me talking like this is actually going to happen 🤣
I don't think even the most ardent of fanboys will be able to claim Nemesis, Oblivion and Wickerman are a better trio than Voltron, Wodan and Blue FIre.
I usually roll my eyes at people ranking coasters they've not ridden - but I think that one's a pretty damn safe bet.
Obviously Blue Fire and Wodan are better than anything at Alton. Except Nemesis. Nemesis has re-opened and really complicated the issue.
I'm going to abstain - and fight stats with stats. An average score isn't going to work here, as both parks have several 'meh' coasters - and that's not...
I was very surprised by how late Oakwood was leaving it to open.
I'm going to Swansea for football on Wednesday and had considered making the detour to see how 'fobia rides these days.
Either they or LWV will be the next park to bite the dust.
Don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but there's definitely some sort of landscaping work going on in the Nemesis area involving diggers and pipes. Obviously could be anything, but thought it was worth mentioning.
OK... so we all know B&M are actually the best manufacturer, but if we go off my spreadsheet - ignoring random manufacturers including British Rail who only appear once. I think my upcoming USA trip should fix the averages.
1. RMC - 8.5, based on 2 coasters, the best of which is Zadra
2. B&M -...
I'm glad it's not just me.
Not exactly a long trek for me either, but I've been fed up of Eurofighters for at least 15 years now. Make it one of their fab little launch coasters and we'll talk.
Apologies if I've not read properly but seems to be some disagreement - can new for 2024 points be claimed for each ride (up to 5 per visit) or only once per visit?
..at the risk of giving Nick even more of an advantage... :P
TBH even as a massive Nemesis fan, your report was more positive than one I'd have written about the park on Friday, which was quieter but with similar availability problems. Then again, you're an eternal optimist and I'm an eternal pessimist, so :P
