I'd normally agree that a ride closure should get a send off, but in this particular case, the ride had been down for quite a while already. I can't really argue spending a lot of money to get a ride working only to close it. It seems it was too expensive to re-open in the first place.
It had...
I feel like Railblazer would be pretty easy to relocate. And given it's intense nature in a small footprint, I'd imagine there are park who wouldn't mind getting it.
What will really be missed at the park will be the flat rides. It still has a working Enterprise, Calypso, and Bayern Kurve...
Part of this could be that we've had inversions the longest, since the first two (safely) looping coasters were both in SoCal in the 70s.... so we've had inversions for over 50 years. Could be a bit jaded on them by now, lost a bit of their allure
;)
I was in Vegas twice, once last November and December. You can see for yourself, but it doesn't appear that they have much intention to bring it back anytime soon. Desperado's entrance is blocked off and all signage removed. And while some caught water in the log flume around September or so...
I've only been to Europa Park once this past summer (for 2 1/2 days), but for me, many of the "big hitters" this park had didn't really impress me... they were just a bit too rattley/rough. They may have been great in their time, but I was surprised that they hadn't seemed to age well.

It indeed has been closed for months, with no sign of anything happening to it. While it has operated sporadically over the last year or so, it's definitely been closed way more than it's been open (like maybe 80/20). While the app just lists it as "Closed" (not temporarily), it's status has...
^When it's open, Superman does still get lines. I like it. And given it's 30 year old technology, you'd imagine it could be updated to more reliable tech if they just wanted to invest a bit.
I don't know if I buy that this is closing either, but the fact that every 400+ coaster in the world is currently down (TTD and Superman) certainly makes it seem ominous for all of those rides.
I don't know about the status of TTD, but rumors are Superman aren't looking great either.
I may have missed it, but I didn't see that anyone has been on the very elusive Wiener Looping... I did that many, many years ago when I was probably an early teen, back at Baseball & Boardwalk (formerly Circus World... it was either right before or right after that transition) in Orlando.
I'll...
Goliath is pretty notorious for that final helix--"the centrifuge"--and most people do at least gray out regularly.
While the GP really seems to like FT, if you're a fanatic, you probably didn't miss too much. It's just too short to be of much consequence. Not that it's bad... I do enjoy it...
Six Flags Magic Mountain also sent out a survey for the giga dive coaster.
One somewhat interesting thing about the survey... while it had the Six Flags logo all over it, the web address was Cedar Fair. So some of the first things coming out of the merger?
I agree with all (Knott's did not mention the land would be delayed by an hour until after the park was already open), but to their small credit, they did get the restrooms open. I've heard multiple sources saying the restrooms weren't open, but I did use them. Maybe they either opened late or...
I was there and rode it yesterday. There's some cute (and somewhat subtle) animatronic effects on the ride, but efficiency is a disaster. Entrance and exit are on the same side, and the cars are very tiny (preventing sitting together). Many adults were being sent on the walk of shame, and...
