It really depends how much any additional supports would change the response frequency and natural damping of the tower structure. I would imagine with fabrication, design iteration and installation (steel costs are very high just now), the tuned mass dampers are a much quicker and easier...
In response to those quoting my posts, I don't disagree with anything you've said either, particularly on BTTF. My main point was simply "it's not some kind of cultural phenomenon in the UK (moreso than elsewhere ) in 2025 as some are suggesting". I don't know that it lingers in the back of...
I kind of agree, and I think a lot of commentators have been massively overplaying its relevance and the British people's affection for it. Yes, there's a musical which has done alright, and some people of a particular age (my dad, who is 65, loves it) might have some nostalgia towards it. I...
Requests for tenders seem to have gone out to top-tier engineering consultancies and contractors (I work at one) associated with the Universal development. I think for site enabling works. Not a guarantee anything will go ahead (various companies also did work on The London Resort...), but it's...
I find most B&M hypers excruciatingly dull for the most part, and am quite bemused that they're held in such high regard, so I'm very much in the "Hyperia as is" camp. I quite like a few of the B&Ms - interestingly, those are the ones I perceive people don't like so much (Silver Star, Apollo's...
Got a great view of Hyperia taking off from Heathrow yesterday (on a road trip this week from Kennywood to Cedar Point and Kings Island).

Chessington World of Adventures (< 10 miles) would be my home park. I've only ever been once in the 14+ years I've lived around London, although I might go again over the next year or so when I get the chance as I'm missing my final UK B&M ;)
Thorpe Park (< 25 miles) is also pretty close. I've...
Tenders are starting to come out for early site works, with more coming over the next few weeks.
Not necessarily a sign this is definitely happening (similar things happened with The London Resort) but things are moving.
Echoing what others said, yes, very easily. I was there this weekend (Saturday) and we left much earlier than anticipated because we had done everything we wanted to. Probably depends if you want to ride the flats and some of the kiddy coasters.
We did The Quest once - didn't care to re-ride as...
I can't think of many coasters I like at all that I haven't ridden multiple times over.
The only two I can think of that I've only done once are Steel Curtain (as it's so unreliable) and the defunct Speed: The Ride (as it's pay per rodet). Neither bother my top 20.
I went back to Thorpe yesterday and got another three rides on Hyperia (after the 5 I had 3 weeks ago). I lucked out by getting on the front and back rows within 30 minutes of one another today, so I could really compare the different experiences.
Unless it's a launch, I'm generally a back-seat...
These elements look very drawn out, which doesn't excite me much. I feel like the smaller, shorter, and punchier wing coasters are the bigger ones, whilst the Gatekeeper-esque ones aren't anything exciting. I think we may have the latter on our hands here, at first glance.
