It is strange to list the vertical lift hill but no mention of a beyond vertical drop, when surely that’s the selling point of a euro fighter?
I mean, I know the mirror isn’t exactly known for quality journalism though… haha
Oh no, I feel so bad for Paultons having that leaked by the mirror! I didn’t read the article but by the sounds of it, it did sound very Gerst.
I’m in the same boat as you @Matt N , I am a little bit disappointed as Euro fighters seem a bit dime a dozen to me nowadays, however I’m going to...
I agree with this. I think the work we’d be seeing would look different for a water coaster. Same for a rocking boat. And if that concrete block is the station, it doesn’t seem to match generally how water coasters move in and out of their station. They tend to have water channels in and out of...
A water coaster does seem likely and it would be a great fit for Paultons. A step up in capacity, and super popular with families, it would definitely be a hit. Wasn;t a picture of a water coaster shown on some document ages ago too?
Only thing that makes me second guess is, if it were a water...
Agreed, I still think the footers match Intamin, whether that be a straddle coaster or a family LSM, or potentially a hot racer.
Did i see that Cobra is closing earlier in the year before the end of the season? Could we potentially be seeing a couple of supports being replaced for Cobra to make...
I could also see that placement being great for a spike. But not sure how that would work with the layout unless there was a switch track near the tight turn at the other end…
Alternatively, if its a hot racer could it be something like this on Mahuka.. where it goes up and over Cobra (not...
I’m still erring on the side of it being custom to be honest. The footers sit within Cobras helix so perfectly it looks like they have been designed specifically for that space. However, it could just be perfect placement of course, and I am far from being an expert when it comes to footers etc...
The supports seem to suggest that’s going to be a very steep dive first drop, almost like a big version of Helios. Very intrigued to see the shaping once it’s up as it definitely looks odd. That Finnish loop looks like its going to pull some serious forces at the bottom…
It does look very similar to gold rush construction to be honest now:
I think it could be a Intamin family LSM - similar model, able to invert (unlike the straddle coaster?). Only thing is the height restriction for that model is lower..
Has it been confirmed a 1.2m height restriction?
I’m not really sure why anyone sees that much of a difference between LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Avatar etc.
They are all simple stories about good vs evil, so the crux is easy to follow. They are all loved because they are so good at world building, and for me that’s what makes them prime...
Just having a look at the footers and could they be similar to Juvelen/Yukon quad?
I am no footer expert, far from it so could be way off, but thought of this as it has I beams, and I believe the height requirement is 1.2m for Yukon quad at least.
Although the footers at Paultons seem to be...
Agree with this. Nemesis reborn is its own different issue, it’s massively about expectation. There is a slight rattle but nothing particularly bad, but it does ride slightly worse than the original in my opinion, which isn’t great when technology has moved so far since 1994. It’s still a great...
I would absolutely love to see a LOTR attraction, much more than I would a Potter one. Like a few people have mentioned before, it's a risky business building something Potter related when there is going to be a new series landing before the park opens. LOTR on the other hand has already had...
Great overview of the ride and area. The theming is looking beautiful! The way this dips and dives in and out of the building makes me think this is going to feel pretty fast and chaotic for its size...
Another POV that looks a lot smoother from Ride Review
Honestly looks great, definitely loses some momentum at the end but from the first drop to the roll through the building, it looks like it really hits and I think its a phenomenal investment for this park. The presentation looks great...
