Valleyfair Coasters

A rough coaster featuring a vertical loop and the dreaded corkscrew element over water.  There's nothing special to report about this coaster apart from the seats are very hard and they have video cameras ON RIDE so you can buy an on-ride video of yourself getting cauliflower ears.

Excalibur is a hybrid coaster; made of wood and steel.  There isn't much to report about this coaster, it's a fairly simple race around the track near to the ground sort of jobbie.
The first drop is excellent.  Valleyfair is prone to flooding and in the late 90's, Excalibur took the brunt of it!

High Roller is a great little out and back wooden coaster. The latter part of the coaster features some brilliant airtime hills.

Yes, it's another one of them tedious and unimaginative mouse coasters with a slow through-put.   If you've never been on one of these before, expect a lot of sharp turns and a few drops.   Popular with children and adults wanting a tamer rider.

"Mild Thing". That's a clever play on words in reference to "Wild Thing". Obviously.  Mild Thing is a small oval shaped kiddy coaster which only kids can ride!.   It features a small drop and a few bunny hills. Hold on tight!

Renegade is Valleyfair's biggest investment for the 2007 season. Featuring a ferocious first drop which curves in on itself and plenty of twisting and turning going on, it'll leave you breathless from start to finish.  Renegade cost just under $7m (£4m) to build and uses Millennium flyer trains.  Most of the track is hidden on the outskirts of the parks (hence the lacklustre photos in this guide) which means the emphasis is purely on the ride, not the theme...or lack of!

Steel Venom is an impulse coaster. What happens is you are launched out of the station and up the spirally bit of the upward track. It then goes back down, through the station and up the other end. It does this several times, getting higher and higher. On the third backwards climb, you are locked in position before dropping back down again.  It's a good coaster but the hold can be a bit juddery, and the launch can "pin" you...especially if you're male!

You'll see Wild Thing as you park up; it's that big green one! The first drop on Wild Thing is awesome...your butt will not be in the seat at all. After that magnificent first drop, the ride is pretty average. There's a pretty good helix and it does travel around other rides and over pathways, but after that awesome first drop it just does not match up
