The Bubbleworks opened in 1990 in the Transylvania area. Originally the ride was called Professor Burp's Bubbleworks and riders went on a tour of his fizzy drink factory. A sweet smell was pumped through the air, adding an extra dimension to the theme. It was Willy Wonka meets Schweppes.

After 16 years in charge of his factory, Professor Burp was retired with many of the theme items being sold on eBay. The model of Professor Burp sold for £!

The ride was then sponsored by Imperial Leather, who revamped the ride to resemble a comedic bath time.

Up to four people per boat can experience different themed rooms, each one containing humorous characters and jokes.

The finale of the ride is a small drop into a large open, plan room where water fountains cross over the boats. Strobe lighting and a change of music create a psychedelic ending.

Imperial Leather's sponsorship ended in 2011 and the ride was renamed to Bubbleworks.
