Klondike was brought from Drayton Manor in 2005. It's an off-the-shelf Pinfari model coaster which contains many drops, head choppers and one vertical loop.
Klondike was the name of the American city where a famous gold rush was started in the late 1800's. Funland has suitably managed to theme Klondike along these lines.
Usually a Pinfari looper means pain - this ride is not unusual!
Riders enter the queue line through a 'mine shaft'. It's quite dark in this enclosed space as it leads up a short ramp and a few steps to the station platform. The cars of the train are themed to mine cart trains similar to what would have been used in the mine shafts. Pull down your restraint (there is no seat belt to fasten) and you're off!
Throughout the ride, there are signs of "danger ahead" and such warning signs. The ride zips up and down the track before entering the small loop, which flashes past in a blink of an eye. Parts of the ride also travel through man-made tunnels which adds to the theme of the ride.
