Park Information
Hastings is famous for several things: Failing to defend against the French, the birthplace of "the opiate of the masses" and for being washed into the sea. One thing it has so far failed to be famous for though is clearly one of its greatest assets - Flamingo Park!
In an exclusive CoasterForce park guide, we shall show you the many varied delights of this wonderful seaside amusement park; or rather, we would have shown you. Our intrepid reporters were cast out from the park for taking photographs of the rides; so much of the guide is based on two photographs, some guesswork and an early morning mission into the park to capture rare photographic evidence of the park's rollercoaster.
The park sits elegantly between the Flamingo Amusement centre, and promenade of Hastings Old Town. It overlooks the stony Hastings beach and fisherman's huts. To the left is ample parking attached to the Sea Life centre; while the promenade to the right contains a go-kart track, decorative concrete lake and a fancy crazy golf course.
Known locally as "the Pink Flamingo", the park is an Aladdin’s cave of the common and mundane. You are greeted by a small, juvenile set of Gallopers and a small "balloon" ride. Though our brave reporters couldn't get much further into the park due to restrictions on people with taste and decorum (although little or no shame), we can report that the park had the following to offer.
As you go through the main (read: "only") strip, on the left there is a spinney/bouncy ride and the right, a Mauser shot and drop tower (kiddie version). The strip then leads past a small set of dodgems, and on to the park's jewel in its crown. The reason you credit whores are reading this guide - The Coaster.

The park is open for limited times during holidays, and the rides are all pay-per attraction. The park seemed to be clean enough, and the rides look tidy and well enough maintained. It was a shame that we couldn't get to spend more time having a look at the park, but the owner seemed quite protective of images of his rides. Maybe he felt we were competitors from a rival park (Alton Towers perhaps?), looking to steal his ideas. Whatever the reason, we shall bravely re-enter the domain in the future to bring an update on this special, and woefully overlooked park.
