Clarence Pier is possibly the most most intimidating park you'll visit...for a start it's in Portsmouth! (That's a joke by the way; I do live in Southampton after all!). The park is sealed off by prison grade metal gates with spikes on the top. The surrounding buildings are all 1950's style and the park itself has a very temporary vibe to it - even though it's been a permanent attraction on the seafront for 50 odd years. |

Entry into the park is free and to ride the attractions, guests buy tokens at 50p a pop and it costs a certain amount of tokens to ride a ride. You're looking at about £2 per big ride. During summer, there are promotional evenings where you can purchase an unlimited ride wristbands.
Rides are mainly brightly coloured spin & spew rides, plus fair ground faves such as a merry-go-round, dodgems etc. They all seem temporary so you can probably expect the ride line up to change yearly. There are also several arcades in the vicinity, plus two wicked nine hole crazy golf courses.
Food is supplied by a few outlets around the pier. Wimpy, fish and chips, doughnuts, candy floss etc. Staff seem to be varied and quite weathered, albeit polite. Parking is available right next door to the pier, and it costs about £1.50 for an hour...you probably won't need any longer than that.
