'Pretty'. That's the best word to describe this park. Imagine one of your capital cities beautiful parks (Hyde Park, London, Central Park, NYC) and then imagine some well looked after, well presented rides plonked in and you've got Jardin d'Acclimatation.
There is a small entrance fee to pay to get into the park and the rides are paid for separately by tokens (which you can buy in the park). At the time of writing (2011), the tokens cost €2.70 and the amount of tokens required for each ride varies.
Aside from the rides there is a massive adventure playground, loads of picnic areas and tonnes of arcade-style stalls and electronic game machines. There's also a bird aviary, a farm, a tranquil boat ride and a few educational buildings to explore (which means it's popular with school trips).
Jardin d'Acclimatation is more suited for families and the rides do reflect that but adults won't feel out of place whoring the coasters or picnicking on one of the many open spaces.
If you visit this park with a car, you will struggle for a parking space as there is a popular camp site near by. The park is a 5-10 minute walk from the Les Sablons metro station (yellow #1 line) and you can easily do the three coasters in less than an hour all for less than 10 Euros!
There are restuarants at the park, although many people appear to eat packed lunches within the grounds. Although some non-French speaking tourists may find it difficult to communicate with staff, it's definitely worth a visit along side the other Parisian attractions!
Only the coasters have been given the CF Park Guide treatment. There are other flat rides here, the usual things you'd expect in a small park. That was a helpful sentence, wasn't it?
Random Fact: The park was opened in 1860 by Napoleon III.
