Kyungju World is located just outside the ancient city of Kyungju, in the south-east of Korea. The easiest way to get here is by taxi from Kyungju Bus Station, which will cost you around $10 (5 pounds). It should be noted that the English spelling of this city varies depending on where the information comes from, including Kyongju, Kyeongju and Gyeongju. A bus from Seoul will take around three and a half hours, but a bus from Busan, Korea's second largest city, should take less than an hour in light traffic.
The park itself is pretty small and you can easily get everything done in just a couple of hours on quiet days. Most of the pictures in this guide were taken on a very sunny, summer day, during the school holidays, but the park was still almost empty. That looks set to change though since the introduction of Phaethon, Korea's first B&M Inverted Coaster.

For history/culture buffs, the city of Kyungju itself is a fascinating place. It was the capital city here during the Shilla Dynasty (57 BC - AD 935) and apart from a lively, yet small, city centre, feels like a huge open air museum. Especially beautiful is the ancient Buddhist temple of Bulguksa, listed as Historic and Scenic Site No. 1 by the Korean government, and which is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Nearby Tumuli Park is also very impressive, featuring the ancient buriel mounds of the Shilla monarchs.
