Happy Valley is the newest, biggest, and best-themed of the Beijing parks. This Beijing park is the second in China to carry the Happy Valley name, with the first being in the southern city of Shenzhen. Happy Valley Beijing is located in the south-east area of the city, forming a triangle with Sun Park and Beijing Amusement Park. There are regular buses from various locations around Beijing that service the park. However, taxis here are insanely cheap, and infinitely easier and more comfortable.
Happy Valley is, in a word, stunning. The theming here is easily on par with a Disney or Universal park, with the amazing Holy Crystal Castle (home to Crystal Wings) dominating the park. "Atlantis" is an island (well, almost) directly in the center of the park with the other themed areas surrounding it. These areas are Wild Fjord, Aegean Harbor, Lost Maya, Shangri-La and Ant Kingdom.
Food around the park is ridiculously cheap, especially if you go for the "eat and walk" style, with meat skewers sold all over the park for less than $1 each. Drinks, ice-cream and other snacks are similarly priced. On-ride photos here are also incredibly cheap at around $3 apiece, especially when you consider that each picture is taken by a photographer, not an automatic camera.
