Park guide and photos by Gavin Jones

Beijing Amusement Park, not to be confused with Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park, is located in the South-Eastern area of Beijing. The rides here are scattered around a central lake, and the whole park is very green, making it one of the more attractive of the Beijing parks.
It's fairly clear that a lot of the rides here are very old, and could do with some major refit work. However, there have also been quite a few new additions recently, mostly next to, or over the lake. As with other parks in the area, most of the flat rides have been manufactured by Chinese companies, having been inspired by (ripped off from) European designers.
For those of you interested in a bit of Chinese culture, the Temple of Heaven is very close to this park (10 minutes by taxi), and is well worth a visit. In fact, if it's not too busy, it's quite possible to get both places done in a single morning or afternoon.
