SIX FLAGS AMERICA, MD, USA
The water ride with partial coaster elements will close for good on Sunday, July 10th.
Six Flags America plan to commemorate the ride by offering a unique photo opportunity from June 13th. On the ride's final weekend, there will be a Pirate Festival, featuring pirate makeovers for guests and special entertainment from the cast of The Blundering Buccaneers stunt show. There will also be a last-rider auction, with proceeds benefiting the National Roller Coaster Museum and Archive. See the press release below for more information.
Skull Mountain has been a family favorite at the park since 1997 and was a world's first at the time of opening. The ride is being closed to make way for a new attraction in 2012. What will it be? Stay tuned to find out!
