Following an accident on March 13th 2011, resulting in the death of 52 year old maintenance worker, Primeval Whirl in Disney's Animal Kingdom will remain closed until at least September 14th. The worker suffered serious head injuries when a moving coaster car struck him.
The "spinning wild mouse" style coaster has been closed for refurbishment work since the start of this year. The ride was scheduled to reopen in June but has been pushed back whilst the investigation into the death is carried out.
This is the second Primeval Whirl death to occur during the rides nine year old history.
