Blue Streak opens at Conneaut Lake Park

Conneaut Lake Park finally opened their Blue Streak, the 1938 ACE Coaster Classic. After sitting around for 3 years, the park finally found enough money to reopen the famed coaster. SnooSnoo was lucky enough to grab a few rides before the park closes for the season.

New Eurofighter to Six Flags over Georgia

Dare Devil Dive Coaster shall be coming to Six Flags over Georgia next season. At a height of 95 ft and speeds of 52 mph, it will be quite the new attraction coming to the American South.

Though Cedar Point is slated for its 2011 ride announcement on August 24th, a local newspaper prematurely announced the ride in an article on the ride manufacturer!

Naked Riding

Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea played host to over 100 naked riders and countless others with a voyeuristic nature this morning. The brave but willing to bare-all lot were there to raise money for the Bosom Pals appeal by attempting to break the Guinness world record for the largest number of naked riders on a rollercoaster. In this instance it was The Green Scream.

Summer fun at Dreamland

While the "Dreamland Project" may still be in the planning stages, that doesn't mean the Dreamland site at Margate, Kent is completely empty.

Shaw's Leisure currently have their travelling fair set up on the Dreamland site for August.

The rides (including the excellent "Freak Out") are on site until 30th August.

So, if you're in the area and in need of a summer-time adrenaline rush, Dreamland has your fix.

New "barnstorming" rides and area for Dollywood

Dollywood announce a new "Barnstorm" family area for the 2011 season! An S&S Screamin' Swing, a water play area and a bi-plane themed play area is what to look forward to!

PBB announce Nickelodeon Land

Pleasure Beach Blackpool have announced their new 6 acre kids area of the park, to open in April 2011. It will be called "Nickelodeon Land" and will be themed to some of the channel's most popular characters including Spongebob SquarePants and Dora The Explorer. It will contain a total of 14 rides, including 9 brand new ones, and 5 to be totally re-themed.

Vote to repair & reopen a classic coaster!

The 1938 Blue Streak woodie at Conneaut Lake Park is 1 of only 2 of Ed Vettel-design coasters still standing. It last ran in 2006, dormancy & lack of resources prevented maintenance. The ride (incl. original cars) needs restoration.

Thorpe Park submit planning for new ride

Thorpe Park have submitted a planning application to install a new ride for the 2011 season. It will be a spinning rapids ride, and is thought to be a relocation of 'Storm Surge' from Cypress Gardens. It will occupy the current site of 'Octopus Garden' where rides have already started to be removed.
