Farewell to Alton Towers' Corkscrew

Around three thousand people turned up to bid a fond farewell to Alton Towers' Corkscrew. The atmosphere was charged with people desperate to enjoy one final ride on this iconic coaster.

CoasterForce were one of many enthusiasts groups at the park that day, many of them gathering together for a final mass group photograph during the day.

CoasterForce management team members Ian Bell, Mark Evans and Phil "Furie" Steadman also managed to get interviewed for live BBC News broadcasts during the day.

Cypress Gardens to ditch its rides and animals

Cypress Gardens, Florida, has now closed for the season, and will be removing its rides and animal attractions over the coming months. When it re-opens in March 2009, the water park will be the sole attraction.

This hasn't come as any great surprise to those who have visited in recent months to find the attractions not open.

Flamingoland Announce UK's Steepest Drop Coaster!

Flamingoland, (Malton, UK) have announced their new coaster for the 2009 season! It will have a staggering 125 degree drop, making it the UK's steepest drop on any roller coaster!
