Kings Island is gearing up for their 2009 roller coaster.

The first piece of crimson red coaster track was recently spotted on the construction site, as captured by KIExtreme.

KICentral was even able to get some pictures of more track waiting to be shipped from the manufacturing plant, including some bright yellow supports and off white supports that may also be used for the coaster.

They also provided us with the continued construction and clearing of land behind the Crypt for the 2009 coaster.

As for the rumored layout of the new coaster, Screamscape features a detailed drawing, a general out and back design featuring a hammerhead turn, numerous airtime hills, and a finale helix over the Crypt diving straight into a splashdown.

But that's not all.

Though there were original rumors of the coaster being named "Mustang" and featuring a wild west theme similar to Maverick, a Snake/Lizard based theme could be all too possible.
