Though it may not be the world's tallest or fastest roller coaster, Alton plans to build just about a world's first in the roller coaster world.
A roller coaster designed for babies, rightly entitled Babycoaster.

Strapped into individual bear-shaped train cars, infants travel around a roller coaster circuit at a mild two miles per hour, closely simulating a stroller ride.
Codenamed Project Giant Gurgle, Babycoaster was revealed today by Alton Tower's chief executives.
The coaster will cater to infants over the age of six months, and will cover the 197 foot course in 67 seconds.
“As the UK’s No 1, we are constantly evaluating a whole host of ride and attraction concepts to complement the fantastic combination of experiences already available at the Alton Towers Resort," said Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director at Alton Towers.
“Project ’Giant Gurgle’ is the latest concept to be considered and would fit perfectly amongst attractions already aimed at our younger guests, such as the Driving School (Mini-cars Attraction) and Heave Ho (Rocking Boat Ride).”
