Opened in 1996, the Santa Monica Pier has made an appearance in countless movies and tv shows, and can be instantly recognized from its iconic ferris wheel and small Morgan steel roller coaster, all suspended over the Pacific Ocean as the world's only amusement park located totally on a pier.
The owners and investors of the original construction of the park are now expressing interest in possibly selling the park to a better suited manager/company.
“The Park has experienced steady revenue growth over the last five years and has maintained a stellar safety record since opening,” said Marry Ann Powell, chief executive officer and general manager of Pacific Park. “This is an optimal time to seek out potential buyers.”
"The investors are committed to supporting Pacific Park’s management with the intention to sell to someone who will continue running the park in the same manner as it is today. They have also been supportive of management and its active involvement in the community and support of charities and non-profits", Powell added.
Currently the park is investing $1.5 million into an all new Ferris Wheel and has invested over $10 million into the park since opening.
