Galaxy Express 999 | Port of Pirates | Dolphin Party | Virtual Ride Theater

Galaxy Express 999 is an indoor, launched, Intamin looper, based on the animation of the same name by Leiji Matsumoto. The coaster itself lasts less than a minute, but has a pretty long, multi-section pre-show, including animatronics and animation sequences. The 30-seater trains are first launched through the single, vertical loop before completing their circular course through some fantastic lighting effects. While the coaster itself may not be anything special, the themeing and special effects here make it worth a ride.

I like this coaster, it's just so random, and the train is really cool.

I really enjoyed this little coaster, and was pretty excited to 'discover' there was a loop in there. (While stationed
in the US Navy in Japan, I was one of the first Westerners and likely the first enthusiast to ride GE999.) The visual
effects are well done, which is a pleasant surprise after all the awful Space Mountain rip-offs out there!

the SFX look cool and the cars look prety new but if i know space themed coasters it will be a good ride but it may be
dulled up from the themeing
