Universal Orlando Resort announced today that Terminator 2: 3-D at Universal Studios Florida will host its last shows on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The closure is said to make way for a new live action experience based upon a Universal franchise, which will open in 2019.

Big shame - really liked this, would always watch it a couple of times per visit. Yes yes it was old and lame and well past its sell-by date, but so what.

(Of course the Osaka one still exists - for the moment)

Ah man, I loved this show. It was so cheesy it was amazing.

Interesting what they will change it into.

Honestly, I thought it had closed a few years ago. Seeing the announcement of its closure surprised me... realizing it was still in fact open this whole time.

It was past its day, but rest in peace sweet prince. I loved T2! The smoke at the end is gone but not forgotten!

Good riddance. It was a nice show but it felt so dated.

I wonder what IP will take over the building, because Potterland is across the lake...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I wouldn't be quite so mad if ET wasn't still festering in that park.

I can't believe you guys think it is past its time, I genuinely thought it was one of the few 3D attractions, old and new, that actually ****ing works.

It's costly to run because of actors, I bet that's the real reason it's going.

People complain about Merlin's ride closures, But Universal however, their ride closures are bigger attractions to what Merlin closed.

^ Universal close stuff to build newer stuff.
Merlin close stuff to save money.

One of the reasons I always liked T2, was that the 3-D towards the end (with the 3 screens and the big Terminator thing coming out of them) just WORKED for me - my brain didn't even recognise that it was a 3D effect, it was just "there". Other 3D films (even newer arguably better ones) I often struggle to see the 3D things and it just becomes a bit of a mess in front of me. Put this down to a lot of the other 3D stuff being 3D for a trick, whereas the T2 stuff was just part of the story (whether we credit Cameron or Goddard for that I don't know - I just know that it was the best 3D show I've seen) - basically agreeing with Joey here ; "actually ****ing work" :) !
