Gerstlauer are a relatively new company in the roller coaster industry. Founded in 1981 by Hubert Gerstlauer, a former employee of the Schwarzkopf company, Gerslauer have 25 coasters to their name worldwide.
In the early days, Gerstlauer were responsible for many of the electrical and pneumatic systems for several ride manufacturers in Germany. In 1992, Gerstlauer bought some of the production facilities from Schwarzkopf and, six years later, their first roller coaster, G'sengte Sau, was built in Erlebnispark Tripsdrill, Germany.
Gerstlauer also dabble in flat rides, wooden roller coaster trains, and transportation rides. Gerstlaurer coasters tend to be quite family friendly, with a lower height limit for riders and a smooth ride experince.
Many parks that have invested in Gerstlauer have remarked how quick they assemle the track and how reliable the coasters are.
