Stuck making the perfect lift hill? Can't get your station straight? Then stop and read this tutorial.

Section 1: Stations

Rule #1: Stations must always be straight.

To build a straight station first select the station segment under the tab "segment." Now, from a side view, make a small section of track, approximately 10 - 20 meters long (bear in mind that a shorter station will limit the number of cars per train). Make sure that the end of the segment is just slightly lower than the start.

Now to make the station straight. Highlight the segment of track by clicking on it - the track should now go white. Now press "i" on your keyboard or go "edit" - "make straight." This will now make a perfectly straight station segment. If you made the end of the station lower than then start, the station will be sloped gently.

Section 2: Brakes

To make a brake segment use the exact same method to make a station segment. First select brakes from the segment tab, and build a brake run to the desired length. Now select the brake and press "i" to make it straight.

Section 3: Lift Hills

Many people new to NoLimits don't make their lift hills straight. Making one straight is simple, and gives your coaster a better feel. When making a lift, I usually like to make a small pre-lift section of track, which could be a turnaround, drop or anything similar. A pre-lift section is not necessary.

To make a lift, first select the lift segment under the "segment" tab. Now build the first part of the lift, the transition from horizontal to the incline. To do this simply place a small segment of track, and angle it up using the control points.

Now we need to create the main section of the lift. This part must to be straight. First, create a section of track that is roughly straight, and follows the course you wish to take.

Now we need to make this segment straight. To do this we must highlight the segment by clicking on it (which will make it turn white) Now press "i" on your keyboard, or go "edit" - "make straight." The main part of the lift will now become straight.

Now that we have the main part of the lift, we need to make the top, or crest. This is similar to making the bottom of the lift. First add another segment at the top, and then move the vertexes to create a n shaped top. Once you have made the crest, make sure that the middle section of the lift is still straight by highlighting it and pressing "i" again.

If you wish you can now select any of the segments in the lift, and change the type and speed of the lift hill. Once you have completed all of these steps, the perfect lift has been made.

Section 4: Launch

Like the previous 3 types of tracks, a launch segment must be straight. In this example, I am using the same station and pre-lift (or pre-launch) track. First, select the transport track from the tab "segments." Now build a segment of track that is flat, and make it straight by highlighting it and pressing "i."

Now we want to create a small brake segment at the start of the launch section, which will hold the train before the launch. To do this highlight the launch section of track, and press "y" which will split the segment of track. You may need to do this again to get the right sized brake segment. Now select the segment you made at the start of the launch, and select the brake segment from the "segments" tab. Now, with the start segment still highlighted, press "x" or go "segments" - "Segment transform." This will make the first segment a brake segment.

Finally, highlight the brake segment and press "g". This will bring up the segment settings, which allows you to alter the brake settings. To create a realistic launch, you want to tick to box "complete stop" and add a time delay of around 2-5 seconds, also tick the box that enables a transport device and finally tick the "launch" box, and set a launch acceleration. You will also need to set the speed of the transport segment.
