The reason Whirwind is rougher is that it was the prototype Maurer spinning coaster. Oscar Bruch, who co-owned the ride with the Kaiser family, gave a lot of input into how to improve the ride. Hence, later versions, including the Tussaud's ones, and Bruch's own Spinning Racer, all ride much more smoothly.

It was well hammerd on the German traveling fair it was part of. then its been hammerd by Chorleys regular shite weather. Spinball is better and alot less gut tareing.

Personally I like Spinball Whizzer at Alton Towers far better than this. Does anyone else agree?

This ride was absolutely awful. It was rough, painful, crap, didn't spin etc. etc. etc.
I gave a 5 because it was so bad that it was funny.

I've been on it twice and I love it. The speed of the ride I think goes well with the quick turns and it makes you a little dizzy, which it is meant to :D

Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch pretty much sums up this ride. This added with the horrible colour scheme, lack of any sort of theming and lack of fun which I can normally extract out of these types of coasters to get their ratings up puts this coaster way down in my book. Horrible, horrible, horrible ride.

I found Whirlwind to be a awesome ride and extremly well done. But I feel the spinning action heavily enhances the ride and it relies on luck more then anything else but good ride still.

Why does everyone kick this ride down? It may be a little bumpy, but it has been on the German Fair scene for many years. Plus, Camelot is such a better place for having installed it...

I got a great spin, and the ride seemed faster than other spinners I've ridden. The rides a little rough if you compare it to other spinners though. It looses points for the apperance of the ride, it looks as if its been randomly put somewhere.

This ride is just like every other ride in the park rough. The whirlwind also has its good sides and is great fun.The best way to ride it is to go down the first drop backwards it is so much fun.4/10 to rough and too slow.

It's rough in my opinion, but the spin is better than both Spinball Whizzer and Dragon's Fury. However, the lack of themeing and ride appearance drop the score down for me.

this is a really great and enjoyable ride. it is different to other rides, becasue as you are going round the track, you are also twisting and turning in all differnet directions. you get a really good view of camelot from this ride!

This suprised me, even though it is extremely compact it is quite the experience, although the park has got a bit lazy with themeing ever since the Tower of Terror. The park needs something to add to the rides' experience... Themeing matters more than you think

What annoys me is the fact that those fiery lot at 'Tussauds' used Camelot's already failing park, to boost their ability to attract large, frustrating ques. Forget 'Spinball Whizzer and Dragons Fury', if you want to ride the real monster of all of the spinners, then head down to camelot immidiatley!

10/10 for the ride. This ride has a brilliant layout with some great moments. 0/0 for theming. There isn't any, and you can even see the fact that the coaster used to be on the back of a lorry.

Not only did Camelot beat Alton and Chessington times wise but Whirlwind is better than both of them. Whirlwind combines a great layout with a smooth ride. The ride flows well with no boring part. The drop is amazing forward and backwards and the end is just as exiting as the start. Unfortunatley Camelot did not bother themeing.
