Flamingoland, Yorkshire, UK

Velocity | Kumali | Cliffhanger | Wild Mouse | Lost River | Navigator | Corkscrew | Dragon Coaster | Go Gator
Runaway Mine Train

Flamingoland surprised us with what some consider to be a better ride than Alton Towers's Rita - Queen of Speed. Whatever your thoughts on Velocity, it has to be said that this ride is an excellent indication of Flamingoland's future - it offers fun for all the family, from entertaining motorbike-style cars for kids, to fun launches for adults.

Nice launch and first turn but after that the ride becomes a bit boring and way too short.

Has to be one of the best rides in the UK. A fantastic launch, great first drop and a great fall away turn, all topped
off with the motorbike theme and seating. Outstanding and worth the trip to Yorkshire all on its own

The launch hurt my back a bit and the two big things that go across your chest and your back are a bit uncofterble. My
mum said that she hurt her back too. On the phto we keped of it it looked like she was gonna say the sh word! But i
looked the stupidist cos my face was curled up into an 'O' shape and my cheeks were bing pulled back! Although there is
a few rough spots I still rate it a nine! lol

I only wsh that its was higher and faster but id still give it a 10 because its a great ride and Vekomahave thought of
rollercaoster that gives you the experianece that no other manufacter can offer!!

I found it surprisingly enjoyable. Gets an 8 for me although it would be a high 8. Only the first turn was really the
uncomfortable part but I really enjoyed it.

I went with my school to Flamingo land. And I waited in a 1 hour que for it. The launch was really good but after the
first hill it got a bit boring.

I didn't think much of this ride to be honest. It was quite rough, painful to the privates and just a bit crappy. The
launch was better than I expected, but still nothing on Rita.

I love this ride! It's so annoying trying to get at the front though, there's always two more people infront of you. The
back's fun too though!

A fun launch and the force at the bottom of that first hill is insane, however I find the rest of the layout slightly
uninspiring, but what can you do with a coaster of this style?

This is a good ride. The restraints are fairly comfortable, the launch is not too forceful and the whole action area is
quite fun. Easily the smoothest ride in the park and give some airtime on the firts hill. Worth a go (although it
develops long queues) and is suitable for younger kids. a good introduction to 'big' coasters.

A very smooth and very unique ride. I very much enjoyed this however, it can be a little uncomfortable in you have a
large body size.

All I can say is don't go on this ride if you ever want to have children. Ouch.

this is for all of you who complaines about the week launch! i am pretty sure that vekoma could have build a quicker
launch if they wanted, but if they would have don that, i am pretty sure that people would begin to break their's nek.
because you have nothing behind your neck!

Velocity is a launch. Immediately that gives it a good start for me and the lauch definately doesn't disappoint. The
layout is also better than some. Unfortunately, if the ride-op decides the restraints could be tighter, you will be in
for an uncomfortable ride.

This ride is great, little theming but provides a great experience with the different style trains. The feeling I got on
the launch lasted throughout the launch, which was very enjoyable.

It's a great ride seemed to have got much better since that last ride. And yes it may be slower than Rita. If you see it
this way: Going in a car at 70 mph and going a moter bike at 60mph its a much different and fragile experience, better
than rita. I love the feel whene you put your arms up on the launch esecialy with those seats.

I still love Velocity to this day. Even after god knows how many rides the launch still gets me unlike the Intamin
coasters and the floater airtime over the hills is awesome. Still smooth as the day it opened and well worth a 10 from
me.

Well, throughly enjoyed this ride. Although the launch may look timid by comparison, it really does feel faster than it
looks. The bike seating, if not too tight, can easily add to the ride experience ten fold. the only rough part was the
first corner, as it is taken under high speed and is quite heavily banked for a ride with such seats. The small pop of
airtime i experienced at the end was a bonus.

this ride is very different to Rita. Although the launch is not as forceful, the ride layout makes it MUCH more fun.
Expect 40 minute queues on quiet days.

I lwft this ride feeling slightly dissapointed. Although the style of ride is a great addition to the park and it does
give you a unique ride I felt there was someting missing. As they are advertising the ride as 0 - 100kmph in 2.8 seconds
(which it is not!) I expected more from the launch (which I found rather slow and dull compared to other launch coasters
I have ridden.) However the ride did get better as the position of seating gives an interesting ride after the launch.
