Park Information

Thorpe Park is a park aimed at thrill seekers, with the ferocious ten-inversion Colossus, the fearsome Nemesis Inferno, and, new for 2006, the 205 ft. 80 mph monster, Stealth. Families, however, are not forgotten, and are catered for with family attractions such as Logger's Leap, and Pirates 4D. Upon entering the park, guests are greeted by arguably the best theme park skyline on this side of the Atlantic. There is an Intamin Mega Looper rising out of the lake, with the thrilling Samurai to its left. To the right, guests are treated to Votex going through its motions, and, right next door, Quantum thrilling more guests. Above the flat rides, to the right, stands Nemesis Inferno's first drop, the angle giving such a beautiful profile that one must wonder whether or not it was taken into account when designing the ride. The park's skyline provides an excellent view, and is quite a way to build up anticipation. Thorpe Park is very compact, thus guests will not have to endure the long walks as in her sister park, Alton Towers. The scarier side of Thorpe Park comes alive during Fright Nites in October, with a superb atmosphere, the darkness adding to the thrill of their already incredible rides.

Park History

Thorpe Park has changed dramatically since 2000, when the Tussauds Group gained control of the park. What existed then as a low capacity, entertainment park for families with no roller coasters or thrill rides, has become the UK's fastest growing theme park and a selection of intense rides comparable to those of Alton Towers. Every year there is something new to bring back the thrillseekers, and the park's visitor numbers have exploded, fueling the local economy and giving us a world class theme park.

Thorpe Park has expressed their desire to expand further. During the next few years we will see more thrill rides, more coasters, and the creation of four new islands, which will increase the park's expansion potential and prepare for a future of more high-class thrill rides and coasters. These islands, as seen in the Google Earth image above (copyright of The GeoInformation Group) are to be placed so that two are in the bottom lake, and two are in the top lake.

OMG i have an obsession with this place and alton towers. I think that Thorpe Park and Alton towers both have amazing
rides and 1 thing one park has the other doesnt and 1 thing the other park doesnt have the other one does! If you murged
the two together, wow that would be the best thing ever!!

to be honest i only got into thrilling rides in the six weeks holidays when i was with my ex-boyfriend and i was showing
of to this lad that i liked so i went the rides with him and my ex-boyfriend and from than on i just loved thrilling
rides (and im 13 how bad is that lol) so now when i go to america, florida, orlando im going to go to busch gardens and go
on shikra thats a drop roller coaster a bit like oblivion at alton towers. and im gonna go on all the other trilling

I've been here twice, and the second time I definietly had more fun, considering that the first time I went I was four
or five, and the second time I was 12. I didn't get to go on many of the flat rides, because we didn't have enough time
due to the fact it was half-term and that I wasn't with thrillseekers. I managed to get my third cousin on the Stealth
with me which was soooo fun! I would've liked to go on more of the flat rides, though. We were going to go on the Zodiac
and Vortex except they were closed. But still, its a great park! I love it there!

i LOVE this park to bits, but ride availablity has been soooo poor this year, little tip for them.. on thier website,
instead of stating the rides that arent open, say which rides ARE open, it would probs save them allot of time.. lol :D

Stealth is excellent, and the other coasters and rides are enjoyable too. The queues were huge when I went though, me
and my friends only managed five rides within seven hours (it took us fifty minutes just to get INTO the park, the queue
for tickets was enormous...)

Thorpe Park What A Legend Of A Park Unfortunately Building On A 'Swamp' Has Its Down Sides Such As When Ever They Want
To Build A New Rollercoaster They Must Take Down Existing Rides E.G When Project Eagle Is Being Built They Are Taking
Down Logger Leap A Ride That Has At Some Point Been Enjoyed By All Of Us It May Be Simple But Its In My Opinion The
Greatest Ride There. Plus The Lake Next To It Is Part Owned By A Water Sports Company And They Wont Just Let Thorpe Park
Fill In All Of The Lake. Such Problems Bother Me About Me About The Future Of Thorpe Park And The Remaining Rides Of My
Childhood.

Noboby can deny that Tussaud's have made a big investment in Thorpe Park since the turn of the millennium, it is now a
more rapidly growing park than Alton Towers & the rides are equally as good even if the scenary is not as beautiful &
the area isn't as big. But I kinda prefer that cause you never have to walk gr8t distances to get to the next ride like
you do at AT!
