Park Information

Spaceworld is located just one hour away by train from the city of Fukuoka, Japan. Trains run directly to Spaceworld from Hakata station, the main train station in the city. You can buy an all-inclusive pass to Spaceworld with your train tickets. The total cost of the return train tickets and the all access pass is 5,200 yen (around 25 pounds). If you get to the park another way, you can buy the all-access pass for 3,600 yen (around 18 pounds). Spaceworld labels itself as the only amusement park in the world to be completely space-themed. As well as the rides, they also have many educational exhibits and dispays, but all are written in Japanese and are hard to understand by non-Japanese speakers.

When I mentioned the lack of English, I was talking about the exhibitions at the park, not the park in general, which
doesn't pose any problems for non-Japanese speakers. Sorry if it was unclear.

Space World is easily one of the best parks in Japan. I made a special second trip a couple weeks ago just to visit
again. The English in the park has improved a lot since Gavin went, as I had no problems there. English guide maps were
a little old (no Zaturn yet) but there was plenty of multi-language signage everywhere (Japanese, Mandarin, Korean and
English). Space World is home to my favorite (at the time of this writing I haven't been on Pyrenees or SD2K) Japanese
coaster: Venus. The space theme is very extensive, and the park is very clean. There has been a bit of decay of some of
the theming since my first visit, but the way this park tends to operate, I expect that to be fixed pretty quickly. It
is quite a hike from Tokyo, but Space World is an easy day trip from Osaka or anywhere south of there. I highly
recommend that you try to include this park in any coaster trip to Japan!
