Kings Island, Kings Mills, Ohio, USA

Vortex | Top Gun | Son of Beast | Beast | Italian Job: Stunt Track | Flight of Fear | Racer  Face/Off | Drop Zone | Adventure Express | Delirium | Fairly Odd Coaster
Firehawk | Little Bill's Giggle Coaster | Rugrats Runaway Reptar

If you look at that photo you will see a vertical loop! Yes, the first and only wooden coaster with a loop. However, in 2006 the ride suffered some problmes which 'may' have been caused by the loop coupled with heavy trains. The coaster closed in mid 2006 and the loop was removed and lighter trains were added. It repopend in mid-2007.

As with it's father, you can expect a frantic ride that doesn't known when to quit (apart from the brake run, obviously!).

All is good except for the Rose Bowl and other high speed turns. It is at those points when you feel your insides shaking
you worry for the future.

Looks to be the best Wooden Coaster ever! Does anyone know if El Toro is better than is? Thanks - Roller Ghoster

Divv, it never had stsr's, I think this is a very fun coaster, although it is rough, it's the tallest and fastest wooden
coaster out there and I really like it, I used to live a couple minutes from the park and I really enjoyed this coaster,
I would really like to see how it rides with the newer and lighter trains now that they took the loop out :(

OMG - OUCH! The worst wooden coaster experience of my life. I shudder to think what this thing was like with OTSRs!

I'm crazy to say this, but I think the G-trains made Son of Beast a more pleasant ride than Gwazi. I got no pain from
SOB and it was a pleasant surprise. Still just a semi-good wooden coaster. 7/10.

Actually either would work though.

I hope someone like Intamin or GCI gives this concept another shot. The same way that B&M saved the diving coaster,
Intamin's pre-fab or GCI's creativity could make this inverted woodie idea a hit.

Intamin should've built this (case in point: El Toro at SFGAdv). With prefab wood, it might've worked.

Just a note for Standford - you are aware the loop is halfway through the ride, right? It's not right after the first
drop.

That doesnt look right. The drop is much bigger compared to the loop. I dont think i wanna ride this one now after the
comments you guys have put

The idea sounded great to many people but the design was terrible. It should have been a hybrid with all steel
structure, may have made it more stable and a little less rough but the height and speed witht the helixes was dumb.
Should have used an out and back design since they do have enough land. PKI just wanted to see if they could copy the
success of the Beast's helix. Too rough and too crappy. Leave inversions to steel coasters.

When I come off a coaster I want to be thinking someting along the lines of "Wow i have to ride that again" or "awsome
ride" Not "any body have painkillers" or "somebody call 911" I gave it a 4. I stronlgy agree with CP6 on this one. Great
Concept with the Woodie Megas...just not the right builders.

It wasn't too rough for me, but it wasn't nice either. The loop was a cool feature... but it was too long and boring,
unlike its father. 7.

This is on my list as one of those 'never again' rides. For all the height and speed, it certainly turns out to be a
terrible ride. As soon as you see that RCCA name, you should realize it's going to be rough and painful. Rough may be
an understatement, though... there's severe jarring through the whole ride except in the loop (which is made of steel).
I'd like to see another company try the height record. These mega-woodies are an interesting concept, just with a
terrible builder they won't get you anywhere. 4.
