Rita - Queen of Speed is, as the name implies, based on a female race car driver. Rita brought alot of discussion to the members of CoasterForce when they first heard what the ride was based on and then what the theme was to be. However, excusing the fact that it has an 'Interesting' background story mixed with a totally different theme, Rita gives a great ride that is guaranteed to leave you with a numb face and white knuckles. With a Drag-Race style start, including the sounds of car engines revving and smoke effects to act as the back fire, Rita never fails to loose its momentum from start to finish. Rita is a great addition for Alton Towers and proves what the Tussauds company are now capable of. With the unexpected surprise of Rita - Queen of Speed, an Accelerator rollercoaster, who knows what Tussauds and Alton Towers have in store next?

some idiot says someone fell out of this and they closed it. i know hes making it up but im just sharing his stupidity with you
yeah john wardley was who they needed, not the intamin salesman, a b&m launch coaster, like a small hulk coaster would have been superb because you would get theming with it, the only theming this gets is the writing thunder rock rally on the station to tie it to the prehistoric theme of its surroundings. its only just faster than nemesis as far as speed is concerned anyway.
also little fact here RITA spelt backwards is short for Alton Towers Intamin Rocket

I somewhat disagree with Adrenaline- Junkie. Although I loathe Rita as much as I do; but Stealth isn't that great compared to Rita. Maybe twice as good, but not 50 million (lol). Its not time and consideration Alton needed; it was John Wardley! If John Wardley made a 180 ft drop coaster beneath tree level; then I'm sure he can do something spectacular with Rita.

Stealth is 50 million times better. Rita is good, dont get me wrong, but alton shudda took more time and consideration into this bad boy

The Queue Was very long, but good launch. I preferred Stealth.

The only good thing about this ride is it's launch, and by the looks of things even stealth out does that. After the launch the restof the ride is bumpy and boring

An okay ride that really is just a big hit at the start and first turn before a few good drops and swoops. If there is a queue longer than the length of the start hut, I'd have to give some serious thought about whether it was worth riding again. Velocity at Flamingoland is a much better experience.

Too overated i think, when i went me and my mates we were all like 'yeah yeah go rita first' but to the much of disappointment when we got off we were all screwing 6 *-*
aparently someone fell out in the first corner, and theming is a disaster, unusual for alton

100KPH is rarely ever reached its more like 90KPH. Yesh it made ugland look tacky and she don't fit in with the theme but you must admit for a tight ride with bodged suports shes ok for an eye sore.

Adrenaline-Junkie, 100mph on Rita would kill you because of how sharp the turn is.

Ddawg, ur acctually wrong.. Yes okay this ride dosnt do 100mph.. bt ther are rides out ther.. ie - Kingda Ka which does 128mph, and Dragster at CP which does 120mph, and ther, as far as i kno, hasnt been many injurys on them, so if a ride was 100mph, it wudnt kill you

This ride would be a very intence ride if it wasent for the constant head bashing and that its not very high of the ground seen as alton his a ride hight restriction no rides over tree top hight although the launch is amazing and the theming is not bad so id say about an 8

To MsIsly: It's not a boring layout! It may look boring, but, it isn't. There's quite a lot of airtime and gforces....

If it was 100 mph it'd kill you. you'd black out, maybe be injured, on the turn, and the train would have wayyyyy too much stress. If you just thought about it youd see how wrong you are m3

:( I hate people when they say it goes 100 mph, (doesn't even feel like it) but theres no need to go on at coasterforce like that too.

no m3, your wrong...rita goes to 0-100KPH not Mph. If it went to 100mph it would probably be the 4th fastest ride in the world.

COASTERFORCE HAS A FACT WRONG! THIS RIDE GOES AT A TOP SPEED OF 100 MPH IN 2 SECONDS. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE CHANGE IT. IT'S GIVING FALSE INFORMATION AND IT DOESN'T SOUND THAT GOOD ON THE SPEED YOU'VE PUT IT AT. 100 MPH, NOT 63 MPH! DEAL WITH IT... PLEASE!

Rita seems to be a ride that people either love or hate. I'd agree that it's too short to wait more than around 15-20 minutes for, so ride first thing in the morning when the queues are usually under five minutes. The launch is suitably thrilling, the turns are forceful, and there is some great airtime on the hills. A great adrenaline rush from start to finish.

i do love this ride, but you end up waiting about an hour or so for a 20 second thrill... which is dissapointing! i stayed over at alton towers and made sure i was first in line for this ride in the morning... got on the front of it... it was a good start to the day! and the launch is exceptional! just not sure its worth the wait in the day...

This had broken down when I was at Alton Towers. From looking at the picture and reading the reviews I think I really did miss out.

This is great, that air time u get when u go over that bump is by far my favourite part. So fast i could feel the water in my eyes being streaked back across my face.

Not as Fast as Stealth, but the longer ride and crazy banked curves make it nearly equal
