Park Information
Pleasurewood Hills is the regions biggest theme park. Although once inside it seems quite small, there's enough here to keep a young family entertained for most of the day. Attractions vary from big roller coasters, to spin and spew flat rides, to live animal shows to classic fairground rides.
The park is split into sections with little, or no, particular theme. What theme is around is in need of a quick scrub up. That's not to say that the park is dirty (there is no litter) but it has a sort of "tatty" feel to it. Staff are friendly and helpful although sometimes slow to load the rides; sometimes the ride wont begin until the ride has reached capacity.
The park is more aimed at young families, although recent additions such as Wipeout ensure that thrill seekers can spend a good half a day in the park without getting bored.
Food in the park is mediocre and seemingly expensive for what it is. Restaurants are quaint and small. There is a Tesco just outside the park if you fancy eating out or bringing a packed lunch. There are loads of benches and open areas which are ideal for a picnic.
Shop merchandise is varied, with the majority of it being jokey sort of stuff, again, more aimed at the younger "I want this please, mum" market.
Entrance price is reasonable and many leaflets advertising the park in nearby services carry discount coupons. The shows are excellent and are worth seeing if you've got time to kill.
