Busch Gardens Africa, Tampa Bay, Florida, USA

Kumba | Montu | Gwazi | Sheikra | Python | Scorpion | Stanley Falls | Congo River Rapids
Tanganyika Tidal Wave | Rhino Rally | Pirates! 4-D | Cheetah Chase

Kumba was the very first large B&M Mega Looper. It sparked a revolution in the way people thought about roller coasters and let the industry know that it was possible to combine height and 7 inversions with comfort and smooth train movements.
Kumba is fantastic, a true classic, and must not be missed.

You may have heard some enthusiasts mention the "B&M roar", which is the sound the coaster makes. Kumba certainly does roar and in actual fact, it's name is derived from the African translation of the word "roar".

Type: Mega Looper
Manufacturer: Bolliger & Mabillard
Height: 143ft
Length: 3978ft
Speed: 60mph

Opened: 1993

Not a bad ride, but somewhat bumpy these days. Saying that, the old girl is 15 years old this year!

I liked ths ride alot. it is a classic, but it beats out many of the new-age B&Ms i've ridden. I love the setting and
just the entire ride.

At first it seemed a little loud and rough (for a B&M), but now I like it ok. For a sit down, I don't think it is as
good as Kraken but it's better than the Hulk.

This looks like such a cool ride. With all those inversions and all. By the way coasterforce, if your going to include
BGA's water rides, can you please include BGE's! Thanks!

This coaster is amazing. It is so smooth when you ride and you get lots of air. You end up a bit dizzy after the 7
inversions but its worth every second!

As a Tampa Native, I get a little bored with the coasters at Busch Gardens Tampa. But, when I try other coasters, I
realize what a gem I have here! Great Ride!

Easily my favourite coaster. Few rough spots but that doesn't get in the way of an amazingly intense and fun ride.

I had expected more of this ride, but was a little dissapointed. But still, with a ride this big and intense, I can
still give it a 9. Nice layout, inversions, landscaping. It all worked pretty well.

This ride sounds the same as when you approach Nemesis, you can hear it before you see it. It has a great layout, making
good use of the land around it and provides an amazing ride, one heart stopping inversion after another. This will
always remain a great rid ein years to come.
