| Knoebels Elysburg, Pennsylvania | | Park Information Knoebels is one of a kind. Located in the central Pennsylvania mountains, the park invites guests to experience a classic amusement park atmosphere. There isn't a park gate; guests are free to come and go. The park offers a one price wristband for rides, rides & coasters, or individual ride tickets. Even the park boundary isn't really defined. As the pictures below show, there are houses surrounded by rides and paths that are also used as service roads. In some places, it doesn't even feel like a park! You can easily fill a whole day at the park. There's 4 coasters and a huge amount of flat rides, water rides, and kiddie rides. There's even a chairlift up the side of a nearby mountain, providing fantastic views of the whole area. The park features no real layout, with a bunch of rides placed in and around several streams and houses. Make sure to get a map, as it's easy to get lost or miss an attraction in the maze of path. An unlimited ride wristband is definitely the way to go to experience it all! Around the park, the history is evident. There are many older attractions Knoebels has taken care to keep in great shape. The park employs very skilled mechanics. In fact, many of the attractions were installed in-house, including the coasters!
When in the park, make sure to get something to eat! Knoebels has great food. They offer interesting non-traditional park food like fried shrimp, steak, or spaghetti. Throughout the season, the park offers specials on weekday nights of different kinds of seafood. Compared to other parks, prices are very affordable. It's also worthwhile to note that there's very little around the park, so eating inside might be the best option! The park staff is generally very friendly and quite efficient at loading rides. You'll never have to wait too long for anything.

Nice little park. Not for thrillseekers! Honestly, it's not even really for park enthusiasts.
It is a GREAT family park, very clean, friendly, but just does not have many rides. The 2 wooden coasters there are good though.
It is nice not having to pay for entry or parking, and this place has no "entrance" at least when I went. You could kind if just walk in from anywhere. It really does have a local fairground atmosphere. Not a bad park at all, but not for thrillseekers.

Looks like a fantastic park and I would love to take a trip there. I really love their attitude towards heritage rides - they are like an ambassador for the rest of industry and I highly commend that. Yes, modern rides are more technologically advanced, but I think more parks should do what this park has done and keep an era of thrill rides alive - The Flying Turns project is a superb idea...

Same here, I didn't care much for it my first visit, but on my second trip, I spent a full day and fell in love.
One item to note: Wristbands aren't available every day, but honestly, you can have a BLAST, ride nearly everything and eat like a pig for less than $40, even without the wristband.

Although it wasn't love at first sight with this park, Knoebels has become one of my favorite parks. It's not like it is beautiful, but the rides are usually pure quality, and the service is VERY efficient. Make sure to check out the wood shop area behind the kiddie area if you go to the park, as (for me at least) it really gives the park some character. Also, the Knoebels history museum is a great touch, and if you're into carousels, check out the carousel museum. The show they usually play with local bands by the Skooter Bumper cars is really entertaining. The food is (as advertised) very good and cheap.
