Some people consider Kingda Ka to be a rip-off of Top Thrill Dragster, some people say the ride has no atmosphere what-so-ever, some claim the launch is 'rough' and the trains 'shuffle' on it. Sod 'em! Don't listen to what people say about Kingda Ka without experiencing it for yourself. Ka a good ride, with alot of atmosphere (however, when they had to re-do the queue alot of the atmosphere was lost, apperantly the park is trying to reopen it though!), people are just complainers! Kingda Ka first launches you to 128mph in 3.5 seconds after the airhorn is blown. Then you go vertical, rotate 90 degrees, and begin to crest over the tophat at 456ft in the air. You then begin a vertical drop, rotate 270º, and begin to flatten out. Instead of hitting the brakes like Top Thrill Dragster, however, you go back up! The train goes over the 129 ft. airtime hill, and hits the brakes. Despite all its critics, Kingda Ka never fails to please those who ride it with its extreme height and speed.

Type: Accelerator
Manufacturer: Intamin

I love the ride, the acceleration is sick! But man the restraints take all of the fun out of it, and they hurt too. TTD
is a lot better, especially with the view of the lake.

MikeisEvil.....Ka nears 5 g's when is pulls up to go up the tophat. And a 1.7 g launch is a ton of acceleration force.

This was rough. I got a headache frmo the launch and I didn't on TTD. It is a bit of a rip-off, the themeing (and name)
aren't very good, but the drop is out of this world. I wish you got more airtime on that second hill though, thats what
its there for but it doesn't really do anything.

This was OK, but not as exciting as the TTD. This ride had little to no theme, no crazy launch, the OTS restraints
KILL, and the hill at the end takes the fun out of it.

Its an awesome ride in the front few rows, we rode front row for the first ride and it was excellent, then went to the
back row next and it was awful, was covered in bruises all over my arms and shoulders - the restraints are
killers. Loved when my cheeks jiggled on the launch tho, kudos from me for that :D

this is a great ride. the launch is very fast, and you really don't have time to think about anything because the speed
is so intense. the climb to the top is crazy, it's almost impossible to turn your head up, and the turn on the way up
makes you feel like you're already on the way down. the drop is just like a normal drop, except it's really high, and
then it's naturally fast from there. overall, this ride is not painful, it wakes you up, and it's a great experience.

I've been on rides with these restraints and sorry TTD is better i mean come on. Going 128 mph in those restraints so
uncomfortable!

I though it couldn't be beat until I rode TTD for the first time last month. Maybe I'm just too used to it since I ride
it almosy every other week. A solid 9.

Top thrill was better imho, maybe because it was first I don't know, but it FELT more forceful, and while the launches
are really really fun ......... Thats all these rides have.

Ok, so I went on the tallest and the fastest. Now what ? Top Thrill has better restraints. Even with a shorter wait
than "normal", both trips on this were not as good as on Nitro or Chiller.

Not only will the ride launch you with 5G force it will also intimidate you, from the 30 seconds to 1:30 minute you are
waiting for the launch system to reset itself you will be looking up at the 456 foot tower and imagining than in 3.5
seconds you will reach 128MPH and in 10 seconds you will be at the top of the tower, to then fall straight down or if
you are one of the lucky few, rollback and get lauched again, Yes it is a PERFECTED version of Top Thrill Dragster, but
sorry TTD fans this one is better, it is the world's tallest and fastest, and even was a star on "modern marvels"
show. SIMPLY THE MOST THRILL YOU CAN GET ON A ROLLER COASTER!

Sorry - TTD is way better. TTD has lapbars. You have the feeling of being strapped in with sticky tape on this. TTD has
a feeling of freefall freedom. Don't have a go at me, Kingda Ka fans. It's just my opinion.

Kingda Ka was fun, but it was very short. The restraints hurt a bit a little above my knees, and that sorta ruined the
ride. And the scariest part was not the launch or going down the big dip, but it was at the very top. I'd give it a 9.
And I did get a decent amount of airtime on the airtime hill.

I do not bother on where it is placed, I'm more interested on the outside view of the park, if you don't see it or not.
It'll stay in the memory

I have been on both Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster and I must say, Top Thrill Dragster Is Way Better. Why? Well The
Ride Features OTSR's which take away the freedom of the ride and the view is of well a parking lot. Top Thrill Dragsters
view is of all the tiny peope and flat rides below, and with only lap-bars, you have tons of freedom. Also the theme of
Top Thrill Dragster is better fitted for this type of ride. But Kingda Ka is still an OK ride ...

Better then Top Thrill Dragster by just a little bit in my opinion. This ride has a launch that I absolutely love and
couldn't get enough of. The front row is the best thrill by far on this ride and it's the smoothest. Got to ride it
11 times!

Hmm, much to my surprise I prefer this over Top Thrill Dragster. The restraints didn't bother me too much, though I do
with they stuck with the T-bar. The atmosphere is alright, but the thing that makes it edge out Dragster for me is the
fact that you can feel the speed and acceleration is much greater on Ka. Awesome coaster with an awesome colour scheme,
and currently my number three.

I never say this about a ride...BUT, if you dont ride this in the front, its like not riding it at all!...Seriously, the
front is like night and day compaired to even the second row!...MUCH smoother in the front, and you can actually feel
airtime on the airtime hill!..Lol...Still though, fun ride...:)

FINALLY DID THIS!!! El Toro beats this by a mile though, but this is definetly 2nd best ride in the park, and tied for
third favorite ride with Storm Runner (Hershey) and Talon (Dorney). BTW, this is nothing to be scared of! El Toro is
scarier, and Storm Runner is way scarier! A must ride. I did it 3 times, even at dark right before the park closed!!!
