Shenzhen, China

Double Loop Coaster | Coaster | Other Attractions

Park guide and photos by Gavin Jones

As you can see from the park sign above, the Chinese name for this park is actually Xianmihu. This park is part of Shenzhen's Honey Lake Resort, and so has been dubbed by English coaster sites as Honey Lake Amusement Park.

The park can be accessed in around twenty minutes by taxi from Shenzhen's main train station. If you enter China by train from Hong Kong, this is where you will arrive.

Honey Lake is a very green park, which contrasts greatly with the hazy, bustling city that surrounds it. It has to be said though, that this place has definitely seen better days. It's clear that this park was once really attractive, though now it has fallen into disrepair. This probably hasn't been helped by Happy Valley opening up in the same city.

The ticketing system is quite strange here. All the rides are listed on the ticket, and are crossed off by the ride operators as you ride them. This basically means no re-rides, but since the ticket only costs around four pounds ($8), it's hard to complain.

The rides here are mostly old, fairground-style flat rides, which don't offer much in the way of thrills. However, as a side trip for anyone visting Happy Valley, it certainly has its charms.
