Park Information

Flamingoland is one to watch. Over the past few years, the park has been working hard to shed it's "glorified fairground" image by installing some kick-ass rides, improving it's zoo and have a sense of corporate branding...all without losing that magical warm and welcoming feel the park offers.
As the park's name suggests, the park began as a zoo back in the late 1950's and within a decade small amusement rides started to appear. In 1978, the parks current owners took control and started to really develop it into one of the UK's best tourist attractions. Aside from adding such unique and cult-esque rides like Magnum Force and The Bullet, Flamingoland build a holiday village and expanded the zoo, creating a comprehensive holiday resort in the north-east.
The park started to reinvent itself again in 2005 with the introduction of Velocity, the UK's first motorbike launch coaster, quickly followed up by Kumali and expansion of the zoo. The park also added many family-friendly attractions to ensure everybody that visited had something to do.
One area that does need improvement (in the eyes of most CoasterForce members) is the food. The "fast food" range leave a lot to be desired and isn't the best park food you'll come across, although the American themed diner is very good and supplies tasty and affordable food.
With the rumoured woodie coaster in 2008 and continued investment, Flamingoland has a very rosy future!

Well, after a recent visit I have decided the place isn't too bad. The place is starting to look nice, and I'd say it
has potential, but could do wiith more long term investments.

Ok, maybe i was a bit harsh with saying I hate the place, but I don't think its a particularly nice park, I'm not saying
I will never return, but, I don't think of it as one of those places I'd love to go...

Flamingo Land is a couple of rides short of being a really good park. Although the zoo is great.

Flamingo Land is awful. Plain and simple. 6 clones, all of which are a awful, most of which are complete and utter
garbage. The two main coasters and two of the worst around, and the entire park is just a fairground with some tacky
theming that either doesn't fit or has holes in it. You know you have a bad park when the best ride is a ghetto-fair
Sky-Flyer. The zoo is nice though. The park? Awful.

Flamingo Land is a very enjoyable park. Has some very good rides, including the only motor-bike style coaster in the UK.
And don't forget the Kumali!

i no the new ride that they may be getting next year, my mate e-mailed them and asked them to get rid of the wild mouse
for somert else, and they e-mailed him back saying that they may be replacing it with a rapids ride similar to
hydromania on the fabbrigroup site, i hope this is true does anyone else.

This is a great park and in a few years time once they have a few more rides it'll be more then worth the ?19 price tag.
If it wasn't due the fact that the park was very quite when I went I would have been dissapointed with it. However,
Kumali and Velocity are fab and when they say you will get soaked on the Lost River they really do mean it!

I have been going to Flamingoland for a very long time, i remember when the Bullet was the signature ride at the park
and was red tracked with white supports, next door to it was the log flume which at the time only had the one drop with
the rock theming on it. There were tons of old fairground rides like a washing machine and the only animals were the
Flamingo's. But i feel the park has moved on considerably well, my onl objection i would have is removal of the Bullet
as it was such a unique ride.

Flamingo land is GREAT! Theres a great variety of rides! My favourite is the Magnum Force i love the fact that you are
absaloutley terrified going up the hill and then you face the drop and its fantstic! I dont like the Brakes near the end
though! Its a shame it went along with the Bullet but the Kamali is great ride but it ends quickly.

the last time that i went to flamingo land was about 2 years ago and i was only 9. I had an amzing time as it was my
first expeirience on a "big ride" when i went on the corkscrew then i was daring to go on everything!ha ha. the ride
that i enjoyed most was the magnum force. i didnt like the cliff hanger as the ride is short and boring and i didnt like
the corkscrew because i came off it with a banging headache. i agree that getting rid of the magnum force is a great
loss and i'm never going there again lol.

I actually think Flamingo Land is very poor at the moment. I think loosing Magnum Force and Bullet was a great loss and
has left the park even more bare than it initially was. I feel very negative about Velocity as an un-themed filler for a
park which is going down the theme park route... The palce has a lot of potential, but it's going to have to execute it
well and keep spending money to get anywhere fast.
