Air provides a unique and exciting experience for both cautious riders and thrill seekers alike. This amazing ride is one of few that actually gives riders the chance to feel what it is like to fly, and in two different positions; on your front and then on your back. Air's creative and imaginative design was in the making for many years and is the dream creation for its designer, John Wardley, who also designed Nemesis. John put his heart and soul into designing Air's unique experience, one that was to put his fellow designers to shame. Unlike its fear-based neighbours Nemesis and Oblivion, Air's one-of-a-kind experience is based on the gentle, smooth, exhilirating experience of flying, enhanced by close proximity to the ground and flybys of trees and pathways alike.

no. it is the most amazing ride you will go on. the sesation of flying is superb because its not fast like the ones in america, which arnt really flying coasters as the dont give the flying sensation. this ride is something else and almost as good as nemesis itself
when i first went on this it became my favourite ride, its amazing, then when i went on nemesis i had to convince myself that it was better, air is that good, it makes you wonder whether it is better than nemesis, which it isnt, cos nemesis has the whole atmosphere about it, like anfiled on a european night, also i like the way the area goes from agressive at the top with nemesis, then becomes like an oasis suddenly, without you realising. but because it isnt filled with the atmosphere and aurura that surrounds nemesis, it isnt as good or characterfull, its stunning, and once again b&m pull of a wonder, its the third most characterfull ride in the park

An absolute stunning ride with great, atmosphere, swoops and turns. It isn't lightening fast and it doesn't throw you about like a ragdoll but that surely is the point as it brings the finesse of flying to everyone. Would be a 9/10 (if you pesky varmits would ever let me rate)
could do with being faster, its just too slow, but still, another stunner for Alton, exciting, exhilerating and stunning

Boo to wadler. Giving a decent ride a 1 is so hypocritical; i thought it was an interesting concept of a flying position for a coaster, any other restraints may be too unsafe or uncomfortable. It's my no. 3 at Alton Towers. Leaving Rita far behind; thats a disappointment.

Air wasnt ment to be all madnes like superman or tatsu. It was built for the feel of flight gentle but still decent in its form.

I still enjoy this ride even after riding Tatsu, as I just love the whole flying coaster concept. It's smooth, fun, and it can be quite forceful in a few parts, especially the fly-to-lie section which is great.

Why is every coaster at Alton towers so short? Anyway I love flying roller coasters. They're just so cool, probably be disappointed by the LENGTH of THE RIDE. LOL!

This ride is nothing to get excite about. it is so boring. also being stapped in by the ancles is not my idea of flying :[ the only fun bit was when you get in to the flying position and leave. a truely terrible ride 2/10

Air is not a thrill ride. As long as you don't ride with the expectation of it being one, it's a very unique and fun experience. The front row give you the best sensation of flying as there is nothing in front of you, and even gives a brief pop of floater air after the turn around before the first drop. The back of the train is a bit more forceful, and feels more like a conventional (albeit reasonably tame) coaster.

The station was good, the lighting and sound effects really got the feel of free flight going. After a tilt (which didn’t go smoothy because an old woman freaked out when I was on.) The slow lift was very exciting, but the first drop was fairly dissopointing. Being tilted onto my back was fun, and the turn, very exhilarating. After the flip back and the brief tunnel, the turn was very fun but the flip did nothing really. The bunny hops were fun and the last turnaround was amazing. After the brakes the offload was very easy, but I got lost on the way out, =P

i will give it a 9 for its nice comfy ride and nice thrills...
